Sentence Therapy for Aphasia

UTILISE (Unification Therapy Integrating LexIcon and SEntences)

If you have any questions please email us* and we will be in touch as soon as possible.

What was this project about?
An aphasic stroke can make it difficult to understand and say sentences. In this project, we test a new therapy for sentence difficulties in aphasia.
We are examining if a new computerised therapy improves the understanding and production of sentences.

When will we recruit participants?
We started recruiting participants from Autumn 2019. Our study is funded by the Stroke Association until March 2023. Recruitment for the in-person trial has now finished.

We have a waiting list for the next version of the trial.

Where does the project take place?
The first project took place at UCL, Department of Language & Cognition.
It was not possible to do the therapy at home because it involves specialist equipment. However, the next stage of the project will mean that you can do the therapy at home.
